Surprise, Surprise, Surprise

Hello Strangers!

I know, I know. But this time, I promise. I will do better. This year has been, well, interesting to say the least. It's August and enough has happened to fill a few years. I have suffered loss, welcomed new life, moved (twice), started a new job, felt my heart flutter with an old flame, traveled, spent time with my family, made new friends, realized that the old flame is actually my cryptonite.....etc, etc, etc

And I'm still standing. Barely. And yet stronger at the very same time.

In time, I will provide details. Update you all as a form of therapy for myself at a much better price. I'm trying to convince myself that the cliches are true: Everything happens for a reason, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, time heals all wounds. In fact I am shoving them down my own throat. I know I'll be fine, I know I am fine. I am a lucky woman. I have nothing to complain about. But still, somedays are hard. However, I have been blessed with a family that always shows up. No matter what. I have been doubly blessed with my girls. My friends from childhood that whenever needed, they circle up, rally around, pick me up and put me back on my feet. In case I forgot to tell you, thank you. Thank you all.

I'll be back to tell update soon, I promise. Oz, the magnificent, or yellow dog as I am currently calling him, is well. Pushing 95 pounds and still all pup! I'm reading the book Marley and Me. While I am enjoying it, and very in touch with some of the owners experiences. These folks had it worse. When I first started reading it, I thought my Labrador and theirs may be of the same blood line. Now, I see that I actually had it easy. My dog is a tranquil turtle compared to what this couple went through! But we're good. Me and yellow dog. Starting to wonder if that's the only couple I am ever going to be a part of though? It's my longest and most successful relationship yet! And they tell me I've got the 33rd creeping up? Humph! Can I do 32 again? Please?

Damn, Batman

I make a little, barely funny bet with the wanderinggirl, and what does she do? Gets her place painted in crack-speed time. But I felt better hearing that Bill Cosby farted on her. (True story!) And today I find out that my furniture delivery from Texas has been delayed, so just a few more weeks of my broke-college student/minimalist stlye deco. And for those of you that keep up with important holidays, my 29th birthday is Friday. Go ahead, try the math, suggest that I am older. My Aunt Reta taught me this trick and she lived many fabulous 29th birthdays!!!!!!!!

Huh?

You have all just given up on me haven't you? Well, I may just as well tease my remaining one or two readers with an update tomorrow. But, just to let you know, my intent tonight was to show pics of my new furniture. Now, I was fully aware that my decorating is not complete. Nonetheless, I was going to show off my first major purchase since setting up a permanent (I just had a heart palpatation) camp. I thought I would first catch up on my friend TK (wanderinggirl or whatever she calls herself). And there they were. Evil pictures of her completly decorated place. And she moved into her place after I moved into mine. (No need to reveal time frames).

However, I finished a book today that I bought in the summer of 2000!

?What'd you do?

Don't you judge me!!!! (That's just for you, TK)
Wanna see who gets the walls painted first? GAME ON!

Can you be allergic to a state?

I will have to argue yes. I have decided I am 100% allergic to the state of Texas. Since I arrived here, from the iceberg, I have been coughing, sneezing, wheezing, itching, sleeping, etc, etc, etc. So, after endless attempts with antihistamines, Dr NotDreamy puts me on prednisone. Now my face is broken out worse than some oily teenager named Chad. UUUGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! I am thinking of leaving early for Oregon, for these reasons alone! And in an attempt to clear up face before I start work. I don't want to go my first day with 10 layers of makeup on. Maybe if I get a great new haircut, no one will notice. Hum....any ideas???? Anyone.....Anyone?????

Still, no offers for anyone to drive cross country, with me? What gives?

A Weekend of Winetasting

This weekend I am off to visit Rej in smalltown Texas. We always have a great time, and this weekend is sure to be as well. Friday we are off to a wine tasting at one of the local vineyards. With her hubby serving as designated driver and her and I having similar tastes in grapes, we are getting warmed up for my move to wine country. On Saturday there is a local street fair with lots of cute stands set up by the local shops. And I am betting on Mr. Rej firing up the grill and making me my favorite mixed veggies! This is the stuff I miss the most when I am far away. Great conversation, political debates, shopping, and trying to balance enough antihistamines to keep myself from wheezing (from their cats) but not too much that I fall asleep on couch and start snoring!

I better get my "Vote Hillary" shirt washed and ironed!
